OCI Solar Power has secured an agreement for land in Granby, Mass., to build a new solar power plant. The utility scale project currently in development will produce 3 megawatts of power for the community.
This new facility will contribute to the long-term energy efficiency goals of the state. Massachusetts is working towards a goal of installing 400 megawatts of solar energy by 2020. Locally, Granby has committed to reducing the city’s energy use by 20 percent over a five-year period. Construction in Granby is expected to begin in 2013.
