OCI Solar Power develops, owns and operates solar power plants in North America. We are currently developing over 40 solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across the United States and in Canada.
Our team has decades of experience developing, owning, and operating power plants, and we apply this knowledge to effectively develop power plants that utilize solar PV technology to create green energy. We are headquartered in Atlanta, but spend a significant amount of time working with and in the local communities where we are helping to build solar power plants.
Develop, Own, and Operate Utility-Scale Solar PV Projects
We develop, own, and operate utility-scale solar PV power plants. We focus on projects ranging in size from 2 MW to 20 MW in size, because we believe projects of this size allow for several key advantages: Solar power plants can be strategically located on the power grid, can be most effectively developed in a timely manner, and can best be aligned with the needs of communities and utilities. However, we also develop larger solar power projects in geographies where the community and utility suppliers are seeking greater green power generation.
Deep Energy Industry Experience
Although OCI Solar Power’s sole focus is solar power, the leadership team has deep experience in the energy industry. Over the past 20 years, our leadership team has developed, owned, and operated thousands of megawatts of power plants. The team has developed power plants including natural gas, coal, hydro, wind, solar and biomass facilities ranging in size from 500 kW to 1,600 MW. We understand how to navigate the emerging demand for green energy applying our extensive expertise in both energy and financing.
Community Partnership
We work collaboratively with local communities to create a partnership as we work together to build solar power plants that provide green energy, create jobs, and increase energy independence. We understand that each community may have specific desires for achieving its green power goals. Our team has decades of experience partnering with communities to ensure that decisions made about where to locate power plants in a community are well planned and clearly understood, incorporate community input, , and create benefits for the community.
Creative Technology and Financial Solutions
We have an extensive network of technology partners and capital providers. We work with our engineers to select the best technology design for each project given the project’s location, the local conditions, and the requirements from the community and utility. Our current projects and solar plants are all designed utilizing solar PV technology, although we are constantly on the lookout for emerging innovations and technologies that can make our power plants the most productive sources of green power. Each power plant requires a significant capital investment. Given our past decades of experience building power plants, we have an extensive network of financial providers that we successfully leverage to raise the capital required to get our projects on the ground.
