These solar panels are part of OCI Energy’s Alamo 6 field. The company announced Monday that it had sold its under construction Project Ivory, a 50 megawatt AC solar project in West Texas.

A West Texas solar farm being built by a San Antonio-based company has been sold.

The project, the 50-megawatt AC Project Ivory, is being constructed by San Antonio’s OCI Energy and was bought by New York-based investment firm D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments.

The price was not disclosed.

Project Ivory is being built in West Texas’ Dawson County. Construction started in March and is expected to be completed next month, according to a news release.

San Antonio’s city-owned electric and gas utility CPS Energy has a power purchase agreement to buy the electricity generated by Project Ivory.

All told, OCI Energy has developed more than 500 megawatts of solar projects that CPS Energy buys power from.
